Tips

1. Save images of your drawing from AutoCAD using PNGOUT or JPGOUT or BMPOUT commands. (WYSIWYG)
   See an example of a Ditch and Pipes.
   Another example showing a 3D Site.
2. Use the EXPORT command to create a 3D DWF. Click HERE to see an example of a subdivision model containing a design surface and pipes.
   • The .DWF file is viewed in your browser using Design Review, a program installed when you installed Civil 3D.
   • View the video showing how to navigate the 3D model using Design Review.
   • If you do not have Design Review installed you can download a free copy.
     Design Review 2009 is now available. If you already have design review 2008 installed you will be notified that an update is available when you launch the program. This update is Design Review 2009.
   • For Design Review 2009: The DGN and JT plug-ins can be downloaded from the Design Review plug-ins Web site: http://www.autodesk.com/dwf-plugins. For each plug-in, the associated README contains installation and usage instructions.
3. Find out what is available for DWG and DWF Viewers. Click HERE.
4. AutoCAD Civil 3D Resource Center Find great Tips and Tricks on Autodesk's web site.
5. Enable the use of MrSID and ECW files in Map with the Raster Design Object Enabler. Are your georeferenced images in the wrong coordinate system? Raster Design will reproject those images as you insert them. There is much more that Raster Design can do. Why not download a free trial.

7. Not getting a dialog box when try to open a drawing? Type FILEDIA on the command line. If the value is set to 0 (meaning the setting is turned off) type 1 <enter> to turn on the use of dialog boxes.
